Hello friends! Our 4th winter tea release of 2026 comes from the Cuiluan tea area on the back side of Lishan. Tea merchants lined up for it, making this high-quality Cuiluan High Cold Oolong sell out on the very day it was processed!
We tested over twenty teas that week, and this was by far the best. The tea garden sits at an elevation of around 1,800 meters, but its exceptional quality stems from more than just altitude—tea garden management was key. Heavy rains in late August washed away a lot of fertilizer in many tea gardens, leaving their winter crop lacking nutrients. That’s why so many teas we tested this year lacked depth in flavor.
This garden also hit heavy rains and lost a lot of fertilizer. To compensate, the owner applied an extra round of fertilizer. As a result, the winter tea grew exceptionally well and produced a rich, smooth, and full-bodied cup of outstanding quality!
Because of this high quality and lower yields this year, supply was tight. While tea harvested in the first couple of days met our standards, much of it was pre-booked. We couldn’t secure ours until the third day, and only by placing an advance order after tasting the semi-finished batch in the afternoon. The demand was truly intense!
