The low-profile powerhouse of the Lishan back mountain, Cuiluan tea, has officially arrived! Located high above the Cuiluan tribal area, this tea estate boasts exceptional management and pristine harvesting conditions. It is hands down the finest tea I discovered during my scouting trip to the Lishan back mountain area in mid-May 2026.

Cuiluan Tribal Area High Mountain Spring Tea

We have purchased from this exact same tea factory again this year, just as we did last spring. Our continuous patronage isn’t due to any prior agreement, but rather our immense respect for the sheer standard of their estate management. This year, finding a premium tea that scores a solid ninety out of a hundred takes far more than just luck. It requires seeking out estates that excel in fertilization and irrigation.

After our Cuiluan tea sold out last year, some tea lovers tried to find authentic Cuiluan tea at various brick-and-mortar tea shops. After coming up empty-handed at several places, they wondered if Cuiluan was just some tiny, obscure tea zone. Let me clear that up: Cuiluan is not only far from small, but it is actually the single largest tea-producing area on the Lishan back mountain. The reason you rarely see “Cuiluan Tea” labeled on the market isn’t because of poor quality, but because most of it gets packaged under more prestigious, higher-value regional names like Dayuling or Lishan, which allows sellers to pocket an extra one to two thousand dollars per catty. While that practice is a bit shady, it proves that top-tier Cuiluan tea genuinely possesses the strength to punch well above its weight class.

Coming back to this specific Cuiluan tea, while its altitude sits at 1,700 meters—which, as a side note, is by no means low for Lishan—proper fertilization and irrigation absolutely close that 300-meter altitude gap, and it comes in at less than half the price. Instead of spending double the money on a mediocre tea from a celebrity mountain peak, choosing this Cuiluan tea at just over three thousand dollars is a spectacularly high-value choice. As always, we will package this for you in two-tael pouches. If you are not completely satisfied, just keep the opened pack and send the rest back for a full refund. We have ultimate confidence in this quality.
