Hey tea lovers, the Chingjing (清境) autumn harvest is finally here! This batch is a bit of a quirky gem—it has its flaws, but its strengths are equally hard to ignore. We only managed to secure 18 kg this time around, so if you don’t mind a tea with a little bit of character, read on!
Here is the catch: it can be a bit bitter if you over-steep it (though it’s the kind of bitterness that melts away nicely). It was likely harvested a bit too tender, and the moisture management during processing wasn’t 100% spot on, making it prone to bitterness if left in the water too long.
On the flip side, its strengths are massive. The sweetness is fantastic—drinking it almost feels like having fruit juice, and it has a very unique, sweet water-aroma.
Despite its flaws, the sweetness is just too good to pass up, so after a lot of back-and-forth, we decided to pick it up anyway. If you are a perfectionist, definitely skip this one. But if you don’t mind a little bit of bitterness from a longer steep and you love a tea with great sweetness, this one is totally worth a try!

Tasty and fragrant. A bit light.
