Don’t pass this one by! If you’ve been waiting for a light-fermentation, fruity high-mountain Oolong, it’s finally here. This is our third Cuifeng batch of the year, and it belongs to our slightly more fermented selection. Honestly, it’s the kind of crowd-pleasing fruity tea that everyone falls in love with!

Cuifeng 1900 (Fruity Fermentation Style)

This batch has the highest fermentation level of any tea we’ve released this year. While our previous batches were very lightly fermented, this one is a bit heavier. Now, don’t worry—it’s not a massive jump. While the previous ones sat around 20% to 25% fermentation, this batch is right around 25% to 30%. That slight bump in fermentation is exactly what gives these leaves that beautiful, subtle hint of fruit aroma.

I’ve been drinking this tea over the last few days, and I swear I love it more with every sip. I don’t just brew it hot at home; I’ve even been cold-brewing a bottle to keep in the car with me when I’m out. When you take a sip, the fruity aroma just blooms in your mouth, and the texture is incredibly fine and silky. I can drive past several highway interchanges, and that lovely fruity aftertaste is still swirling around.

My Brewing Tips from This Week

For the absolute best fruity flavor, I recommend using 8 grams of tea with 100°C hot water and letting it steep for 3 minutes. That’s where the sweet spot is. If you prefer a bolder cup, you can easily go up to 5 minutes—the tea quality is excellent, so it won’t get bitter or astringent at all.

Another really unique trait of this batch is that once the tea liquor cools down, I personally think it tastes just as amazing as it does hot! Of course, everyone’s palate is a little different, so please test it out yourself once it arrives and let me know how it turns out for you.

A Note on the Terroir

Just so you know, the tea estate is located right around the 1900-meter mark in Cuifeng, and the fruity note has a lovely sweetness to it, almost like passion fruit. If fruity profiles aren’t your thing, you can probably skip this batch. But if you love a good fruity aroma—or if you’ve never tried a fruity high-mountain Oolong before—you absolutely have to give this one a shot.
