Ladies and gentlemen, the first high-mountain “Jin Xuan Tea” of 2026 has arrived! After nearly ten days of searching since late March, we have finally found the perfect Jin Xuan Oolong. This selection from Alishan Taihe is characterized by its tender leaves and remarkable sweetness.
Alishan Taihe Jin Xuan Tea
Harvesting for this year’s Alishan Jin Xuan spring tea began in late March. However, early production was limited, offering few choices. Coupled with a spell of rain, finding high-quality batches was initially difficult. Fortunately, as the rain cleared and Taihe entered its peak harvest season, we were blessed with over ten consecutive days of perfect weather. This allowed for a smooth harvest and an increasing variety of premium batches to choose from. After multiple rounds of comparison, we finally secured this exceptional Taihe tea.
Although the altitude is around 1,000 meters (which is quite high for Jin Xuan), the vineyard management is “outstanding.” The farmer is meticulous with every step, from organic compost to top-dressing. The plantation is well-irrigated, but most importantly, the tenderness of the tea greens and the wilting process are executed at a professional level. This results in a tea with excellent body and sweetness.
We sampled 7 different groups of tea that day, and after three rounds of “blind testing,” this Taihe Jin Xuan emerged as the winner. It boasts superb tea substance and high sweetness. Given the quality at this price point, I personally find it to be an “incredible value.”
As the first high-mountain Jin Xuan of the year, I have full confidence in its quality. If you aren’t satisfied after buying it, keep the opened pack and we will issue a full refund. That is how much we believe in this tea!
