This tea comes from the Songgang (松崗) area, right next to the famous Qingjing Farm (清境農場), at an altitude of over 1,700 meters. Its hallmarks are a wonderful lingering sweetness (hui gan) and an exceptional “high mountain character” (gao shan yun). It is a tea that lets you feel its unique, high-altitude essence from the very first sip.
Because the quality of this batch is superior to everything else produced over the past few days, it became highly sought after the very night it was processed, with a major buyer snapping up more than half. For the remaining stock, the tea owner wanted to bundle the “head of the batch” (the premium portion) with the “tail of the batch” (the lower-grade portion). Since the tail didn’t meet my quality standards and the head was simply too good, I had to play my trump card: I offered a 100 NTD premium. My sincerity finally touched the owner 😂, and he agreed to let me have 90 catty of the premium tea without the low-grade bundle.
