Out of stock for half a year! Our top-tier Qingxin Oolong Honey Black Tea is finally back!
Thank you all for your patience! After being sold out for six months, our Honey Black Tea is officially back in stock! This batch comes from our August harvest, made from the premium small-leaf Qingxin Oolong variety.
Why is this batch so special?
Earlier this year, around April and early May, Taiwan experienced quite a dry spell. This meant very few tea green leafhoppers—the little miracle workers behind that signature honey flavor. Without them biting the leaves to spark that aroma, even the best tea-making techniques couldn’t pull off that charming honey scent. As a result, the tea harvested in May and June was pretty average at best.
Fortunately, rainfall got back to normal starting in mid-May, and the leafhoppers began to thrive. By August, the leafhopper population absolutely boomed in the tea gardens! We were finally able to snag this fresh batch of raw leaves—easily the finest quality we’ve seen in years.
Flavor Highlights:
- Rich, Natural Honey Aroma: Thanks to thorough feeding by the green leafhoppers, the tea develops an intensely sweet and completely natural honey fragrance.
- Silky & Refined Taste: Made with the small-leaf Qingxin Oolong variety, it lacks the strong astringency often found in large-leaf varieties like Ruby (Hongyu). Instead, it offers an incredibly elegant, smooth, and refined palate that feels super comforting to drink.
This is without a doubt the richest, highest-quality batch of honey black tea we’ve sourced in recent years! Once this batch is gone, you’ll have to wait until next year. If you love honey aromas and smooth, delicate teas, make sure you grab yours while it lasts!
