Where is the Source of Dayuling?

I’m not introducing a new tea region today! I just want to ask if anyone knows where the “source of Dayuling water” is.

A customer spotted “Dayuling water source” in a competitor’s marketing copy (on sale for NT$1,800 per 600 g) and called to ask me where it is. I was completely baffled, and when I asked the tea farmers, they didn’t know either. We figured it must be a marketing gimmick cooked up by a competitor, similar to the HuaGung water source (there really is a HuaGung water source; below is a photo of the tea garden at the HuaGung water source).

Where is the water source of Dayuling?

I often say that Dayuling is like Apple or TSMC in the stock market—the moment something is linked to Dayuling, the price skyrockets. I recently heard about “backside Dayuling” selling for NT$6,000 per 600 g, which turned out to be tea from behind the Jingguan Tribe. Come on, that’s way off!

While “backside Dayuling” is a bit far from Dayuling, at least it’s an actual location. A “water source” is completely out of nowhere. You have to hand it to our competitors for their creativity.

Dear tea lovers, there is no such place as the Dayuling water source! Even if there were, there wouldn’t be any tea there, and even if there were tea, it wouldn’t sell for just NT$1,800.

Note 1: Since I don’t have a photo of the “Dayuling water source,” I’ll just share a few random photos of Dayuling tea gardens and the primeval forest instead.
