Ruisui Tea Region

Ruisui Township is located in south-central Hualien County. Situated on the Wuhe Terrace at an elevation of 150 to 300 meters, Ruisui has a century-long history of tea cultivation. Local teas include Pouchong and oolong, while black tea has been actively promoted in recent years, making “Ruisui Black Tea” a signature local specialty.

Adjacent to the Hongye River and Xiuguluan River, the Wuhe Terrace boasts an exceptional environment for tea growing. In 1973, under the guidance of the Taiwan Provincial Government and the Tea Research and Extension Station, large-scale tea cultivation began. The resulting tea leaves are thick, tender, and intensely fragrant, making them very popular in the market. Currently, the cultivation area spans about 100 hectares, with the primary varietals being Qingxin Oolong and JinXuan. The teas produced include black tea, Pouchong, and oolong.
