Today, the tea industry’s straight-talker wants to talk about “Fushoushan Tianchi Tea,” which many people are selling online. First off, did you know that the Tianchi tea region is currently the second-highest altitude tea plantation in Taiwan!

Fushoushan Tianchi Tea Region, at an elevation of up to 2,490 meters
Our store manager introduced this over a dozen years ago. Feel free to Google “Tianchi tea region“—Liao Chang Xing’s website ranks quite high in the search results. Perhaps the introduction was quite catchy, as quite a few competitors simply copied the text and photos for their own product descriptions and started selling Fushoushan Tianchi Tea. If you Google “Fushou Tianchi tea” or “Fushoushan Tianchi,” you’ll see prices ranging from NT$1,600 to NT$5,400.
The funny thing is, there is actually only one tea plantation in the Tianchi region, which belongs to Fushoushan Farm. The farm sells its own tea, and even at NT$7,000 to NT$9,000 per 600 g, demand outstrips supply—there’s zero chance any of it makes its way to outside tea merchants. So for those competitors selling Fushoushan Tianchi Tea, either they’re selling fakes, or they’re buying it from the farm at NT$7,000 per 600 g just to resell it to customers at a loss. Which one do you think it is? 😂😂😂
Below is a photo of the Fushoushan Tianchi tea plantation. A few years ago, fences were put up to keep people out, and this photo was taken after the store manager obtained permission from the farm management. To make sure our info was spot-on, we even checked with the farm’s tea master, who confirmed that Tianchi only has this single plantation. The nearest private tea plantation is HuaGung, several kilometers away. 😂😂😂
Tianchi tea has only one plantation, and it belongs to Fushoushan Farm. It’s one thing for everyday consumers not to know this, but how could tea merchants get it wrong? It’s something you can easily find out just by making a trip and asking. My fellow industry friends shouldn’t just sit behind their computers all day—every now and then, you’ve gotta get out there and actually check out the tea regions~
Fushoushan Tianchi Tea FAQ
Do you sell it?
No. Only available directly from the official Fushoushan Farm.
Is there any difference between Tianchi High Mountain Tea and Tianchi Alpine Tea?
None at all. High mountain tea and alpine tea are essentially the same thing—different tea merchants just use different names. (Does “alpine tea” just sound a bit more fancy?)
Is Tianchi tea priced at NT$1,500 per 600 g?
The official minimum price from Fushoushan Farm is NT$7,000 per 600 g, and it always sells out the moment it drops. Getting it for NT$1,500 per 600 g is simply impossible.
Are there any private tea plantations in the Fushou Tianchi tea region?
No. There is only the single tea plantation shown in the photo, which belongs entirely to Fushoushan Farm. It never leaks out to private tea factories because the farm doesn’t even produce enough to meet its own demand.
Are Fushou Tianchi Tea and Fushoushan Tianchi Tea the same thing?
The characters “Fushou” are not trademarked, so anyone can use them. “Fushou Tianchi Tea” is likely just a name coined by tea merchants, which doesn’t mean it’s actually tea from the Fushoushan Farm Tianchi plantation~
