Hey everyone, our tender-picked Biluxi High-Cold Tea has arrived! A decade ago, customers always worried that tender picking would make the tea bitter, and we had to explain it every single time. Times have changed, and now everyone is scrambling for it! Today, we proudly announce that this is a tender-picked tea~
Most tea farmers prefer to avoid tender picking because the yield can drop by 10% to 30%. Instead of harvesting 60 kg, tender picking might yield only 48 kg, which makes a huge difference in revenue. So why would anyone choose to harvest tender shoots?
The most common reason is risk management. Tea harvesting rarely goes completely smoothly, so farmers need schedule flexibility to avoid being caught off guard by sudden rain or labor shortages. Harvesting a portion early as tender shoots is a bit like keeping a safe following distance while driving.
However, the 2026 high-altitude winter harvest was a bit different. First, it was sunny almost every day before October 20th, so harvesting went smoothly without delays. Second, the weather was colder than usual this year, and farmers were worried the tea leaves would age quickly and lose their refined quality. As a result, many farmers chose tender picking, which allowed us to discover this wonderful tender-picked tea~
