This batch was actually harvested and finished back in mid-May. We originally planned to keep it as our “hidden gem” until the very end of the tea season. But so many of our regular tea friends have been asking about our highest-grade Fushoushan Lishan tea—some even joked that if we didn’t put it up soon, they’d have to go buy from someone else 😂—so we decided to bring it out early.
Fushoushan Lishan High-Mountain Oolong Tea
The absolute best window for this year’s spring tea harvest was mid-May. The teas we brought in during this time, like our Qilaishan, Cingjing, and Xin Jiayang, are honestly all top-tier, handpicked batches. But even among great teas, there’s always a standout. Out of the dozen or so batches we tested, this one scored the highest overall. Its body, smoothness, and sweet aftertaste are easily in our top three, but what really blew us away was its incredible, fresh, tender tea aroma.
Why it’s so special
The reason this tea has such an amazing tender aroma comes down to a quick decision by the farmers. At the time, the weather forecast showed rain coming. The farmers knew that if the leaves soaked up too much rainwater, the quality would drop fast. To protect the quality, they chose to harvest early, even though it meant sacrificing some of their yield. That’s how this beautiful, early-plucked Fushoushan Lishan tea came to be.
Worth every penny
Because it was picked early while the leaves were still young and tender, the cost was higher, and the tea estate owner raised the price by NT$100. But even with the increase, we tasted it and felt it was completely worth it. Just the smooth, clean texture of the tea alone justifies the price, not to mention that beautiful fresh aroma.
Like we always say: Instead of spending the usual market price on just an ordinary tea, investing just a little bit more to get a truly top-tier batch is always a much better choice.
