2022 Fanzitian and Sancengping Spring Tea

Fanzitian saw a small amount of harvesting in early April, with peak production around April 20th, lasting until early May. Sancengping began harvesting around April 20th, peaked in late April, and wrapped up by early May.

The store manager headed up to Fanzitian on April 24th and immediately thought this year’s tea looked “lush” and “stunning.” Visiting several tea plantation owners, they all mentioned that the yield was great this year, but everything “grew all at once,” making it a bit tough for some tea factories to keep up with the harvest. Fearing they wouldn’t finish in time, some farms harvested early, making the leaves a bit too tender. Others simply resorted to “machine harvesting.” Using machines for a quality tea like Fanzitian is extremely rare, but they had no choice—if the tea leaves grew past their prime (“overgrown leaves”), they would lose even more value. ▼ This year’s Fanzitian spring tea grew exceptionally well!

After checking out Fanzitian on the morning of the 24th, I headed over to neighboring Sancengping in the afternoon. The quality of the tea leaves in Sancengping was on par with Fanzitian, but even more tender. The highest-altitude Liurengong tea garden wouldn’t be harvested until early May. ▼ Liurengong tea garden.

The store manager is very pleased with this year’s Fanzitian Sancengping Spring tea. A batch of top-quality Fanzitian tea was received on the 27th and will be listed in the next few days. Additionally, a batch of “three-year-old tea trees” with exceptional growth was found, and the manager is eager to see what kind of quality these new trees will produce.

The manager will visit Fanzitian and Sancengping again in early May. With favorable weather, the manager has a feeling that Fanzitian and Sancengping have a great chance of producing top-tier products this year that are “just as good as LongFengXia.”

Note 1

It rained from May 1st to May 4th, followed by good weather on the 5th, 6th, and 7th. May 8th had light rain with bright sunshine after noon, and May 9th was fully sunny. The manager stopped tracking after the 10th because the highest-altitude plots in Sancengping were completely harvested by the 9th.

The manager ultimately purchased the harvest from the Sancengping Liuren-gong tea plantation on May 9th. Grown at an altitude of over 1,700 meters, it features an incredible Sancengping mountain character and will be available in a couple of days. Stay tuned!
