Types of Black Tea

Customer Inquiry: Last week, I bought some Honey Black Tea and SunMoon Lake Black Tea from you. They both have such unique characteristics, and my family and colleagues all love them. This time, I’d like to try some different black teas. Do you have any other varieties of black tea available? Also, what are some of the most famous types of black tea in the world?

Chang-Xing Tea: Hello Mr. Cheng, thank you for reaching out. In addition to Honey Black Tea and SunMoon Lake Black Tea, we also carry Alishan Black Tea. This is a high-mountain black tea with a limited yield and exceptional quality, making it a star product from the Alishan tea region. We also offer JinXuan Black Tea from Mingjian Township. It is made using a honey-scented tea processing method, where the unique cultivar aroma of JinXuan pairs wonderfully with the fermented notes of black tea. You are very welcome to give it a try.

When it comes to the world’s black teas, China, India, and Sri Lanka are the largest and most famous producers. India has Assam and Darjeeling black teas. Sri Lanka has Ceylon high-grown black tea. Needless to say, China has remarkable offerings, including Keemun, Lapsang Souchong, and various Gongfu black teas, which are all outstanding. While you can easily find Assam, Darjeeling, and Ceylon black teas in Taiwan, mainland Chinese black tea cannot be imported into Taiwan, so you’d likely need to travel abroad for a chance to taste them.

▲ Lapsang Souchong from mainland China is a renowned variety of black tea.

Taiwanese black tea is every bit as good as those from China, India, and Sri Lanka. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to Chang-Xing Tea again.
