Pardon me for lacking fresh content the past couple of days, just jumping on the trending bandwagon. 😂😂😂
It’s pretty wild how a situation like this ended up being a lose-lose for everyone. Honestly, I don’t think the students did much wrong. Eating an average of 1.2 bowls of rice per person isn’t excessive, and leaving a negative review makes sense since they were paying customers. 😏

As for the restaurant, they probably felt this table was a money-loser (27 people spending NT$6,900), and combined with the bad review, decided to vent to the media. As a business owner, I totally get their frustration. Selling tea, I often run into losing deals too. Back then I’d argue my case, but nowadays I just shrug it off and take the loss. 😅😅
My most memorable incident was a customer who went ballistic demanding a refund. Turns out, they were regular Pu-erh drinkers and thought our Taiwanese high mountain tea tasted like plain water. I explained that high mountain tea is lightly fermented and naturally not as robust as Pu-erh, but they wouldn’t hear it. In the end, we just had to issue a refund (and they didn’t even bother returning the tea). 😒
Another time, a customer angrily claimed they ordered Tea A but we sent Tea B. After checking the order, it was clearly their mistake, but they insisted they were right, demanded a refund, and wanted us to cover return shipping. Once again, we compromised: refund issued, no return needed (international shipping is just too pricey to make it worthwhile).
We deal with too many losing transactions to count. Trying to fight every single one of them out is exhausting—sometimes eating the loss is just the most practical way to go. Come to think of it, this stir-fry joint has gained massive exposure; who knows, this might turn out to be a huge blessing in disguise for them. 👍👍

Over the last couple of days, the store manager’s friends, family, and colleagues have split into “Team Restaurant” and “Team Students,” making quite a ruckus. Looking back, the steamed rice incident is seriously bizarre—almost as surreal as the Salmon Chaos. 😂😂😂
