Cuifeng tea originates from Ren’ai Township, Nantou County, with tea gardens situated along the Cuifeng branch of the Lixing Industrial Road towards Wuling from Cingjing. Known for its high yield and exceptional quality, Cuifeng tea rivals Lishan tea. The region primarily produces lightly fermented Oolong tea, alongside small quantities of black tea and heavily fermented Oolong tea.
Advantages of Cuifeng Tea
In earlier years, the Cuifeng area primarily produced high-mountain fruits, but since 2000, it has gradually transitioned to tea cultivation due to outstanding tea quality. Today, over 80% of land in Cuifeng has become tea gardens, making it the highest-yielding single origin for Taiwanese high-mountain tea. Another notable advantage of Cuifeng tea is the exceptionally high level of local tea production expertise; tea garden management and factory equipment are top-tier, ensuring the Cuifeng high-mountain tea produced is second to none compared to Lishan or Dayuling teas.

Liao Chang Xing's Review of Cuifeng Tea
An overall score of 80 points, with a peak potential of 95 points for this high-quality tea origin. Local tea producers represent the absolute top tier in Taiwan, with two tea factories standing out as world-class in tea garden management and fertilizer application. The Cuifeng Oolong tea they produce is often sold as Lishan or Dayuling tea. In short, as long as you avoid plots using Taiwan Fertilizer No. 42, those lacking irrigation, or tea leaves harvested too late or on rainy days, Cuifeng’s exceptional environment ensures the quality will always be impressive.
