Cingjing Tea: A Premium Choice of Limited Quantity and Exceptional Quality

Cingjing tea comes from Ren’ai Township, Nantou County. The tea gardens are mainly located on the slopes below Provincial Highway 14, with a small portion along the Lixing Industrial Road. These tea regions generally face east with abundant sunshine, combined with the chilly winds of Hehuanshan and ultra-high altitudes, resulting in exceptional tea quality. Cingjing tea is primarily crafted into lightly fermented oolong tea.

The Superior Quality of Cingjing Tea

Centered around Cingjing Farm, top-tier tea gardens are concentrated in Songgang and Meifeng, both exceeding an altitude of 2,000 meters, with Meifeng reaching up to 2,100 meters. Such high altitudes are second only to Lishan and Dayuling, giving the tea a rich high-mountain aroma. Furthermore, compared to neighboring Cuifeng and Qilai Mountain, Cingjing enjoys better eastern sun exposure, making its tea quality more stable and increasing the likelihood of exceptional, standout harvests.

The Price of Cingjing Tea

The retail price for Cingjing spring and winter teas ranges between NT$2,400–3,500 per 600 g, while autumn tea is priced between NT$1,300–2,200 per 600 g. Similarly, much of the finest Cingjing tea is often “upgraded” and packaged as Lishan or Dayuling tea. Moreover, while there are many local tea factories, a significant portion of the harvested leaves actually originates from neighboring Lushan, Lixing, Cuifeng, and DongYanShan tea regions, so extra caution is advised.

Liao Chang Xing Reviews

With an overall rating of 80 and a peak potential of 90, this is a renowned tea origin known for limited yields and exceptional quality. Using premium fertilizers, careful tender leaf plucking, and harvested on sunny days, the chances of getting a fantastic tea are very high. However, it’s essential to verify the origin of the tea leaves when purchasing, as there are quite a few external leaves on the market. Additionally, because Cingjing is located in the high mountains and lacks natural water sources, farmers must purchase expensive water for irrigation at NT$30 per ton. This leads some tea gardens to cut costs, which can impact quality.

In summary, Cingjing tea is highly regarded among tea merchants for its high quality and distinct high-mountain aroma. Although it is priced a bit higher, its superior quality makes it well worth a try for anyone pursuing premium tea.
