Wujie tea region altitude 1500m
Sitting at an altitude of roughly 1,300 to 1,500 meters, the Wujie tea region primarily harvests in the spring and winter, alongside a respectable autumn harvest. The spring harvest generally takes place in late April, while the winter harvest occurs around October. The main varietal grown here is Qingxin Oolong, with a small amount of JinXuan, primarily crafted into high mountain oolong tea. It’s a fantastic spot for viewing the sea of clouds, which roll in morning and evening, with the morning views being particularly breathtaking. Because of the frequent mountain mists, the tea plants grow slowly, yielding thick, robust leaves of exceptional quality.
In addition to tea gardens, sea of clouds, and maple viewing, there are many other attractions here, including Wujie Forest Road, Wujie Dam, and Wujie Reservoir, offering stunning scenery. Because it is relatively unknown and less crowded, it is a very serene and picturesque area. Even if you don’t drink tea or aren’t interested in Wujie tea, the Wujie tea region is well worth a visit. And if you are a tea lover, a trip to Wujie will definitely not disappoint. Directions: Google Maps Tea Region Navigation
